Perspectives are the different points of view or opinions on a certain topic. People can have different perspectives about the different topics that they are presented, and need to be able to hear other people's points of view about that certain topic in order to gain more knowledge and opinions about it. Personally I like when people in my team come up with different perspectives than mine since it can create debate. I like when people prove me wrong or present their arguments against mine, since I see it as an opportunity to learn about the topic being discussed.

  3. I learned that people need to take in consideration every perspective of a topic to really give an overall solution or opinion. Obviously, people can focus in just one perspective of the topic, which would make it easier to understand. In todays activity I had a lot of fun coming up with topics that fit certain perspectives about the main idea or problem. I liked my team a lot since we all gave ideas and worked together to give the best effort possible. I am really looking forward on working with my team.

  4. As the class progressed I was capable of creating a wider understanding regarding the contrasting points of view an issue contains. A perspective may not only vary because they come from distinct individuals but due to the fact that their seen through different lenses. A lense may contain several perspectives. For instance, if a person wish to create their own opinions regarding the topic of abortion he or she can evaluate the situation from a cultural or social lense in which some may argue it isn't morally right due to their religion while others believe women should be in control of their bodies.

  5. Through the class, I figured that perspectives aren't unique. Inside a perspective, there can be many other "sub-perspectives" regarding the same point of view. Sometimes, the perspective is the same one, however, the only thing that varies is the lense in which the point of view fits on. A perspective can contain several lenses, and the lenses can consist of many perspectives. Each lense that the perspective sustains, has its own evidence that clarifies the position you have with the lense. In today's class I also learned how sometimes our perspectives need more backup for it to be understandable. I realized this since my classmates added some detail to the position I had, and made it stronger.

  6. After this class, I realized that it is hard to view a certain topic through different perspectives in one lens. For instance, we had a hard time mentioning more than five competent perspectives that would actually help us prove our arguments. However later on I learned that in order to have stronger and more concise perspectives, not many are required (only focus on two in order to have better arguments). Last but not least, I enjoyed working with my team and getting to know the way they think and how we will be able to complement each other in the future.

  7. Through discussion (and clarification), by the end of the class I was able to understand what perspective is. By the use of lenses and various perspectives, one can truly analyze and understand a problem in question. Putting myself in the shoes of other people's perspective made me realize problems are never black and white and there are several complex layers to a problem, that I otherwise would've never realized were there. Perspective is very important, especially since if you are going to tackle a problem, and attempt to answer it, you better appeal and respond to every side of the argument.

  8. After the class, I learned that multiple perspectives can be found when taking a certain stand on a specific subject. You can have a main idea but that doesn't mean that the only sides are the "good" and "bad" side. Different sides exist depending on the stand you're taking. It is important to have an open mind when looking for perspectives in order to get the most out of the topic and being able to explore the subject deeper. I felt like I have a good team and if we all think together we will have great results later on.

  9. After this class the terms "lenses" and "perspectives" are clear. I learned that a topic may have different lenses and inside there are many perspectives. A perspective may change your opinion about a topic, that's why it is important to analyze many perspectives, so you won't be bias on conclusions. I felt comfortable in my team since I know they're always able to help me if I'm struggling or take in consideration my voice when I have an opinion or idea. We will grow and learn from each other achieving knowledge in this class.
